Production numbers, 1991
I have been scouring the net looking for production numbers for my 1991 XJ-S Convertible, Classic Collection. I am located in the USA. My friend John "Bleasie" fom England said he thought they exported more Coupes than convertibles and the convertibles that were of the Classic Collection were few and far between. Does anyone have access to the numbers? I would be most appreciative. My car has the Oyster paint scheme with Magnolia interior and burley piping. I LOVE this car and just want to more about it, thanks!

If you contact the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust and give them your VIN number, they may well be able to tell you details about your car's date of construction, and other details about it.

Great summary !
It should be remembered, though, that Jaguar (at least at that time) quotes production totals by *calendar year*, not model year.
It would be a real mess if we tried to sort by model year, given all the peculiarities of that designation
Cheers

In addition to Paul's numbers, I'll give you a little bit of trivia. The '91 was really an extended production of the '90 as the factory was setting up for the "facelift" model introduced for the '92 model year.
However, there were no 1991 model cars sold in California. The emissions requirements changed between '90 and '91, so all the cars sold by California dealers in '91 had to be titled as '90 models.
The Classic Collection was a limited edition that was created when US dealers complained that their market didn't get access to the LeMans Celebration special edition. In addition to the badge, it featured Autolux leather with contrasting piping and Elm burl wood.

Paul,
Is this worldwide, as in total production, or is it just those sent to the US? This would tend to indicate that my '91 Coupe (Classic Collection) is far rarer than I had imagined (one of 1,536 total coupes, Classic Collection not specifically split out).
Thanks,
Brad
