I think the factory exhaust would have been an issue, but I don't have the factory exhaust. As far as the wheel fitment goes, it would fit without modification with a 18x9.5" +40 offset on the back with a 35 series 265 width tire, or even a 275 tire! I have +45 offset rear wheels, and it is pretty tight for clearance on the inside edge, so we bent the body seam down a little in 2 spots just to make sure it would never rub in any situation. It has a little too much negative camber after lowering it in the back, and adding some camber would also give more clearance on the inside edge, which may make the +45 wheel the best choice after all. It's still a work in progress.

Who makes those wheels? Are they for a BMW?

TSW makes them, they only come in 120mm but I had them drilled to 120.65mm. The center bore is 76mm, that was the hardest thing to find on a set of wheels.

Bigaaron,

Did you ever post a performance review after the initial run? I was most interested in the current specs and subjective impressions after you got everything "sorted out". Maybe I missed it.

This has been the 2nd most interesting thread, exceeded only by some of the stuff from Stevetech. Pictures are unexcelled. Kudos man!

Front wheels are 18x8 +20, with 235x40x18 tires. Perfect fit. I probably could have gone wider but I like the 235/265 tire combo for the street on a Supra, so I did the same on the Jag.

Thanks!

The car hauls *** when it hits full boost at 4500rpm. The sequential turbo setup on the 2JZ-GTE gives you good low rpm acceleration, and then a real kick at 4500rpm when the 2nd turbo kicks in.

We finally got the transmission all sorted out, I went to my friends shop and he helped me adjust the governor weights back to the original pieces, with medium spring weights. We had originally put really light weights in the governor to try to get it to shift at a higher rpm, but we went too light so it didn't want to shift until the engine was at redline at full throttle. It also didn't want to automatically downshift to 1st gear sometimes and would take off in 2nd. Now it's almost perfect, it stays in 1st until about 5500 rpm at full throttle, and about the same for 2nd to 3rd. If you are just cruising around it shifts at a much lower rpm. Gear shifts are really fast and smooth with the new shift kit. I honestly learned a lot more then I ever thought I would need to about TH400 transmission modifications from this Jaguar project!!!

Jaguar somehow made the worst ever transmission bracket system, it is so ridiculously worthless, and it is right in the way of the governor access plate so that you almost have to drop the whole transmission to change the governor weights. I am going to make a new simplified version with a Energy suspension poly mount.

The 2800 stall 11" torque converter is great for the street, it has good acceleration in all gears, and cruises in 3rd with super light throttle at 75mph at around 3000rpm. Gas mileage seems great so far.

Overall, the car is a lot of fun! It has a high performance engine from the 90's, with a suspension and transmission designed in the late 70's

The natives are getting restless!!! LOL

We have put about 500 miles on it so far with no trouble. I know what a stock 2JZ will do, so a dyno isn't something I really want to pay for at this point. The 2JZ-GTE swap we did in a MK3 Supra about 2 months ago made 378whp and 382tq at 17lbs of boost on the stock Aristo twins, the only mods being a 3" exhaust, intercooler kit, and a fuel cut defencer. There was never any question if the 2JZ would make more horsepower then the original V12.

The transmission now shifts perfect on or off boost. It's really nice to drive, does great on the freeway, and accelerates pretty hard at any speed when you hit the gas. Gas mileage seems to be excellent so far.

We have already had a set of Aristo twins upgraded with GT28RS compressor wheels, and new steel exhaust wheels! Our goal is 525whp on the upgraded Aristo twins, we WILL have a dyno sheet posted for that! I think I might install the new turbos before taking it to paint.

I am dropping it off at the paint shop in the next week! It's getting a complete paint job, some custom fiberglass work on the front and rear bumpers, and we are going to have them remove the sun roof and weld in a new roof panel.

I'll do a burnout video next week before we take it to the paint shop, so you guys don't start calling BS on my whole thread or something! hahaha

Here is a video of Mary driving the Jag after we installed the new wheels.
She doesn't really give it full throttle at first, but you can hear it hit full boost...

Looking good. Have you done anything to keep the rear cage in place? Mine wheel hops really bad if I try to do a burn out. Thanks for the update.

Haven't crossed that bridge yet. We plan on upgrading it before adding substantially more horsepower. Right now it seems to be working ok with the new mounts that we installed.

Thank God for an update, I've been having withdrawal symptoms over here.

It looks and sounds great.

Now then, about those two MGs in the video background, come on, you have to spill.

I like the looks and sound of the car, sleek and refined but after watching the video I couldn't help but wonder if your front tires would rub the lip of the fender if you hit any kind of bump at full lock?
