Q about clearing evap drains
I do have wet carpets and the first time I tried to use the defrosters on my new-to-me '85 V12 coupe the windshield fogged up so bad I couldn't see at all. So, I decided to clear out my evaporator drains.
I found them tucked up by the tranny (took some looking). I shoved some 12ga wire up there until it stopped going, however the wire is fairly soft and bent easily so I'm not sure it's going up all the way.
I did drag out a bunch of crusty stuff but no water ever came out. I'm really not sure the wire went in far enough.
I'd like to mark the wire with a piece of tape so I know if it actually went all the way in. Can anyone tell me about how deep it should go before it hits the coil?
