Default quarter window motor access

Great forum, thanks to all.

New to Jags. Window issue: quarter window not going up with top.

One side works, but passenger side inop. Power is being supplied; tested ok at connectors to motor. Assuming relay is ok so isolated to motor.

Plastic covers motor, all rubber nbuttons clear but panel won't come free??

Replacement motor source??

Remove and dismantle motor. Rubber link inside gearbox attached to motor can degrades with time and broken pieces jam worm gear. Both mine did this at different times. Replaced rubber with epoxy resin, cleaned up - sorted.

Dismantle the motor where the worm gear is driven. Usually the motor works but the gear is busted... this part here:

Window Lift Motor Gear Kit | AutoZone.com

The rubbery 'thingy' is a shock absorber. Epoxy'ing the whole thing together will definitely work, but might be a bit harsher on the motor in the long run. There are several different types of gear kits to fix this problem so be sure to get the right one...

The one that was compatible with my window happened to be for mid 80's GMs (Chrysler LeBaron if I recall correctly). However, the window that quit on me for for an '88 H&E quarter panel so they might not use the same one for the factory convertibles, but there's bound to be one that will work for you.
