Default Question time...Freeze stat?

1976 xjs A/C question .. I replaced my compressor, dryer, TXV valve. Charged the system while at a steady rev at 1500 rpm, according to my thermometer supply air temp dropped below 34 degrees at 40 PSI suction 225 discharge, I believe that once it dropped below 32 degrees the freeze stat kicked the system out, the compressor clutch released and the evaporator fan on high stopped running. It would only run on defrost, My question ( is there a freeze stat that would be the only logical reason for the compressor and fans to stop ) I can adjust my pressures I was going by PSI and sight glass cleared.. Thanks

There is a "Ranco" thermostat that will break the compressor circuit if the evap core starts to ice-up. Not sure if it would cut the blowers as well. It might.

It is located behind the RH "cheek" panel, on yellow/yellow-brown wires. Easily bypassed for testing....although it might simply be doing what it is intended to do

Thanks pal, it's strange how it would shut the compressor off as well as high and low speeds but not the defrost cycle, il let you know what I find.
