Questions related to engine wiring harness on Facelift v12
I am trying to remove the engine wiring harness from a 95 v12 Coupe and have run in to several snags. The wiring harness seems to have been tucked under everything possible. Its a bear to get out!
Any help/advice you can provide is much appreciated
1 How do I get to the ECU to disconnect 25 pin connector from the engine wiring harness. I disappears into the passenger side firewall but I can locate it from the cabin side?
2 There are 4 main "forks" to the wiring harness 2 go down the Vee to the Injectors and AC compressor. The other 2 go along the outside of the Vee and have been tucked under some kind of engine mount. Can I remove these and leave them off?
3 Is the fact that the wiring harness is not going through the mounts an indication that the PO replaced the wiring harness? Are there any other give aways as to whether the wiring harness has been messed with? Having never seen an OEM facelift v12 engine wiring harness I have no clues.
Thanks

if you are asking about the routing and that loop in the second pick, the is just for lifting the engine out of the car, it isn't for routing and it would be a huge mistake to route anything through there because you would have to remove it if you wanted to pull the engine or support it.
No effin clue about the ECU, is it still in the trunk on the face-lifted models? If so, its not as simple as finding it in the dash and disconnecting, although i would be there IS a connector near the dash and it doesn't route all the way back to the ECU without connections.
Most cars I have worked on do not have a connection right at the firewall, for the sake of dust and waterproofing.
More than likely you need to pull the dash to get all that **** out of there, there is an extremely low chance you could ever get it out without pulling the dash.
Not face-lifted but check out spikepaga's post on upgrading his AC in this thread, will give you an idea of how the wiring is generally routed
