Radio/cd install in 1996 4.0
Managed to install the c/d player without much difficulty. Just hard wired the original plug to the new one without cutting any of the wires off the original in-car plug. Sounds very nice. Used the original ears off the old radio. Had to widen the holes in the mounting ears a bit but it looks perfect. I was a little surprised to see 'Made in Korea" on the original Jaguar radio! This XJS cost $82,000 (US) new, so what was this cheap radio doing in there?

From my understanding pretty much any single DIN radio will fit the XJS with little to no modification. Damn, I need to find a proper Alpine without the video game display.
$82k new? Damn, I thought XJS prices topped out in the low $60s. No wonder sales dropped off.

For sure it's a whole lot easier upgrading the XJS stereo compared to my '00 XJR or '06 XJ Super V8 Portfolio. You need a degree in digital networking to work on those.
I have a nice Pioneer system with bluetooth music streaming in my XJS. Also changed all of the speakers to Infinity Reference......... sounds pretty good, for a convertible
