Default rear brakes and rotor replacement ?

I just ordered aftermarket rear brakes and rotors for my 1993 xjs inboard brakes. I ordered them from a jag. speciality shop and they stated they will work fine and were reasonably priced. I then contact a local jag. speciality shop locally about some else and we got onto the subject of my rear brake rebuild and they stated that you must use original jaguar brakes and rotors or you will have overheating problems.
All I'm trying to do is to get my car back on the road in a safe and reliable way without spending a mortgage payment to do it. I figure original equipment might be better, but will new after market from a jag. distributor work.
Does anyone know for sure that jaguar brakes MUST be used or can a good set of aftermarket brakes do the job. The inboard brakes on my 93 xjs are a pain to get to and replace, so I really want to only do this major job once as far as rotors are concerned, the pads I know will have to be replaced down the road.

I've used aftermarket rotors/discs on umpteen Jags with no difficulties. Bendix, Lucas, Wagner, Brembo, NAPA, Centric.

Thanks for the post. I was wondering if this shop was trying to sell me parts. I told them I already bought the aftermarket parts and they seemed to want me to return them and buy the originals from them. I think I will try my luck with the one I already purchased.

There are numerous reason that many shops don't like installing owner-provided parts, including the fact that it cuts into their profit margin....which is perfectly understandable.

Other shops shrug it off.

I did my 1993 with aftermarket rotors about 2 years ago and haven't had any problems. It does take some time to change them.
