Rear window sticking

Rear window sticking
XJS convertible
Ok, there must be a big problem here . . . . . . It seems that most of the window problems are with the rear right one, so lets say that it cant be the motor. 1 day it works fine the next hardly at all. So, electrical problem but where....?
1 or 2 people have wired up the rears with their own switches nice but not the fix. Has anyone found the answer ?

The only way to find it is lots of lovely fault finding.
Could be:-
Intermittent switch
Broken or chafed wiring
Faulty relay if fitted
Fuse breaking down under load.
Ground point
Loose connections
or all of the above.
Somewhere to start but you may have to get into the door to check the wiring.
Hope this helps,

Finally got to my window
Found a design flaw of great magnitude. If your rear window motor fails with the window up you cannot get at the upper attachment screw that holds the rear side panel on. I had to smash the screw from the inside with a screwdriver and elongate the hole it's screwed into so I could pop it out. I got the panel off and after getting the plastic motor cover partially off to access the motor I found the gear cover was off and that there's a plastic piece between the window gear and the motor that acts as a damper. Well a piece broke off this section and worked its way out to enough to pop off the cover and I surmise that this in turn caused the motor to jam. I used a jumper pack for power and smacked the motor with a hammer and it began working again but had a lot of play so I cut three rubber pieces the same shape as those that broke and stuck them in the holes and added three more on top to keep them in place.I popped the plate back on, crimped it again, reassembled everything. I don't know if this only happens because it's on the passenger rear or not but that's the story of what happened to me. Bud
