Removing front X-brace on 94 AJ16 Convertible
I need to remove the front x-brace on my facelift convertible today in preparation for some underseal and paint remediation on the underbody and around the jacking points.
Has anyone got any experience or tips on doing this, please? Is it just as simple (famous last words!) as undoing the front bolt attachments and the front jacking points of the car?
Thanks
Paul

It should be that simple Paul! FWIW, I would suggest removing it while the car is on a four post lift, or above a pit. On a two post lift there is always the chance of some body torsion effects, which might make removing it, or more likely putting it back on, a challenge...
Thanks Greg!
I hadn't got access to my 4-post today so had to do whilst it was on the ground.
Jaguar helpfully put access holes in the undertray to access the front 19mm bolts. The jacking point bolts need a fairly deep socket but all four bolts undid fine using a breaker bar. 5 mins and it was out! One of the easiest jobs I've done! Of course, cleaning off the black wax will now be the messy job!
Whilst I was down there, I also drained the gearbox yet again (not fun when the car is on the ground!!!) and removed the dispstick tube completely. My attempt to epoxy glue it whilst it was still attached and with fluid in it, had not been completely successful. So, I'm now doing it properly removed from the car!
Cheers
