OK, so in addition to my seemingly hopeless search for a right rear quarter window motor for my 1990 XJS convertible, I'm now starting the search for a replacement for the transmission dipstick (mine is broken off at the end - was when I bought it, NO idea how. If it's totally full, it just sort of wets what's left of it). And I'd love to get some touch up paint for the few teeny tiny dings from driving.

Coventry, Pauls, et al have all politely laughed at my requests. Help?

In the US, if you haven't already tried, look up companies that part out Jags like Jaguar parts from the original Jaguar Heaven! Jaguar parts for classic to current models or Everyday XJ. Or you may even get lucky at a wreckers.

In regard to the rear window, are you sure your motor is bad? I say this because I know of three people who recently had problems in that area and suspected the motor. Two of them were actually connection issues and the other had something break off and wedge in the gears. Just a thought

My mechanic tested the motor and did all sorts of pulling of relays and connections, and yeah, it seems to be the motor. Sadly. But...I'll check just to be sure -thanks!
