Default Replacing canvas top, rear window question

I have the old canvas and rear window off. Was not as bad as I was expecting. My plan right now is to refit the top, glue/staple all the previous areas and then after stretching it back in place cut out the window section. I’ve read a lot, and I may have missed that step in the different posts. But is there any reason that window should not be the last step? It makes sense to me to stretch and fit the entire thing before cutting the window area out. I’m still pulling old staples and need to order window sealant, so if there is a better way to proceed, please let me know.
thanks

When I had mine done I seem to recall the window was done at the end. I think!
