Sounds like you'll be getting all the bells and whistles for the ICE in your upcoming kitty; good for you, man. Myself, I've done similar, only that it was quite a while ago, so the technology is obviously not there, except for high capacity digital storage and digital sound processing (see my gallery for what I did on mine). And a 7" display is still in the works for me.
The radio mounting surface on the XJS dash is not even with the surface above it (where the trip computer is) in a way that when a flip screen goes up it will hit the trim above it before it is vertical, so it will be facing down, which obviously you do not want. However, a member here did this install with a special frame trim piece that forces the radio to move outwards, maybe 1/4" or 3/8" not sure, thus giving the screen a pivoting point that's closer to the trim above it, therefore to reach vertical before hitting. His picture shows the screen fairly vertical. Of course, the screen facing a little upwards, towards the passengers faces is even more preferable.
I have not been able to find this, or a similar, trim piece yet myself, but maybe the member will pitch in here since pics of his install will be displayed (can't remember his name). Anyway, see pics below.
Cheers,

Reinaldo,
Sarc's install is here: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ndering-91652/
This isn't his car, which is a shame as I was also going to try and find out about that moulding. I also have a flip screen Alpine waiting to go in!
