Nope it isn't and those pins are looking pretty nasty so I'm guessing the plug will be similarly compromised.

Will that stop it running - no - at least not at first but eventually that will kill the ECU

Well it's never been touched. It wasn't bad inside so I cleaned it all, fixed that pin, and it's back together.

It's dinner time now so I'll try Starting again tomorrow with the few little things i did today

Having trouble finding those ones in Canada. Not sure I trust that place I posted. I'll check napa tomorrow morning. But might take a few days to get some in.

Holy **** *****

It started!

I went into the garage after dinner, my 4 year old came with me, I was gonna start pulling spark plugs, I looked at him and I said should I try and start it?

He said yes daddy.

I got in and turned the key, let it bring, vroom sprung to life. Scared the crap out of me. Wife came running all excited.

I only let it run for a minute as it's inside the garage.

I then waited a few minutes and and started it again and vroom like it was nothing.

So now I can start trying to work on the high idle (about 1800) on start up and a bunch of other stuff to get it running somewhat smoothly.

Cool Deal ! great to hear sometimes you never know exactly what you did to fix it. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

And I was told if it ain't broke, don't fix it. LOL!

Damn that's good news!

Jack

As far as the plug issue. I like Champions for Chrysler and Chevrolet, Ford, Motorcraft Copper plus I believe they are. For most Foreign cars and bikes NGK. I don't like anything Nippon Denso. I usually buy the best standard plug each manufacturer offers. And other then the occasional "Bad One" I've always had good luck. and I didn't pay $8.00 to $10.00 or more a piece for them. LOL Hope it helps

It was this big honest ... come on what did you really do ...

Only joking. Good deal, weight off your mind I'll bet - go to it every 30 mins just to convince yourself it wasn't a fluke now -

Working on the tps adjustment. Lowest I can seem to get it is around .50. Its definitely finicky as once i set it i flip it over and it either goes higher or drops to .015.

And trying to find a replacement is not working out.

I'll keep trying though lol.

Jaguar fix is to put some larger washers under the screws that hold the TPS in place - if a gorilla tightened it the screws want to drift into their old locations.

You need to work on it in situ as in where you can't see it - which is a pain in the rear I know, even moving the wires can mess the setting up took me near an hour to set mine up and it didn't last a week. You really don't want to know what I found out at this stage - you keep scoring little victories there's a house move in your future.

Make sure you set up the throttle bodies too - should really do all that before messing with the throttle turret.

Ya the TBs are set already. At least it runs now lol. Tomorrow i need to get it outside and let it run a good 45 minutes or so. Drive it around the block once or twice so i cam give it a shot of gas. Probably **** off the neighborhood as its loud with no exhaust haha

I want to try that timing trimming that grant wrote about. I'll have to see if I can find what he describes.

Pretty surey aar doesnt function either.

I found a replacement for the tps on ebay. The one for a 93 mustang ac delco one that was mentioned in a post. Ac delco doesn't make them anymore as I found of from a ac delco supplier today. I get it sorted at my.new place.

I did get it down to .45 now.

So pushed it out of the garage, started right up. Engine started to get warm about 5 minutes in so I started adjusting the idle.

Then all of a sudden coolant leaking.. was pissing out of the side of the expansion tank. I've already repaired it twice (not this spot) so this tells me the side walls are weak. Going to order a new one.

Anyone have leads on on? Are the remag ones ok?

Last summer I bought a new one from Moss Europe. That was the only place that had them in stock back then.

Can't say for Canada but they come up here in the UK regularly, you can even get stainless ones, depends how long you want to wait - are you planning to drive the car to the new place ??.
Moss Motors list them in the US but it says special order. SNG Barrett show both OEM and aftermarket as in stock - take a bottle of Scotch before you look at the OEM price.

EBay may be your best bet right now but that is always a gamble

SNG Barrett

Moss Motors

Stainless Tank

Ordered one from SNG. Ugh.

No I'm trailering it to the new place.

So I washed the engine bay today since it had coolant all over anyways.

While I wait for the part I'll get the front bump back on. If i remember how lol.

I can sense the frustration - remember what I said about Sod and Murphy ... but you've come a long way and achieved a lot.

Where is this located? I don’t recall seeing one on my 89’. Thanks! Really glad to see you got it running!
