Rescuing a feral cat.
I haven't really started a build thread here, but suppose I should.
Some will know my project from other forums and I won't clutter up these forums with various photos etc, so here's my blog of the project:
Jaguar XJS restoration/modification: How it all started.
I was deliberately looking for a car or shell without the V12 or any significant Jaguar features, I didn't want to modify a nice original XJS.
Today's fun war bending up some new under floor fluid lines.I chose to do this for the obvious reason on an old car: the originals were ugly, bent and rusty. Plus I just didn't like how Jaguar ran the pipes under the car and I wanted to change the location of the pipe outlets in the engine bay for my conversion.
I'll be replacing the flexible lines to the tank of course, plus I need to run the left hand pipe to the right hand side and vice versa for the pump out/ return to suit the new engine. It's easier and much neater to sort that out in the boot behind the tank.
I have some nice stainless line clamps coming, so those lines will look much nicer when they've been hung properly. I'd originally considered using cunifer for the brake lines, but I got a great deal on the galvanised steel lines by ordering three rolls of the different sizes needed.
So that's it so far, the car is getting very close to being put back upright again, at which stage I'll start on the bodywork whilst waiting for nice complete front and rear subframes or a donor car to come up at a good price.
