Smile Review of SenSen Shocks and Struts for Jaguar XJS 1993

Hey guys,

Around a year ago i bought SenSen Shocks and Struts, i want to share how happy i am with new quality of ride.

It is a lit bit stiff, but it'a nice stiff.

I had just a squeaking sound, like rubber, got to the mechanic, he said one of the shocks were completely dead. So i was looking for replaces, read a numerous reviews, decide to give a chance to SenSen full set (just to change everything to make sure) on apxautoparts.com
APX Auto Parts Search results for: '1050'

and OMG, compare price/quality, those struts are AMAZING.

Not going to buy anything else if i will need to. One year using it, not a minute of regret.

They are Chinese and I agree a little hard. They do not have springs. I have a spare set due to an ordering mistake on my part.

I bought 4 of these rear shocks from Ebay and was not too impressed with the quality control. Two of them had crooked welded top caps, the spring perch sleeves were all slightly different lengths and there was what looked like a bristle trapped in one of the piston seals. I guess you get what you paid for, my cost was under $90.00 with shipping. I ended up buying Boge shocks from Terry's Jaguar (best price I could find) and even one of them was defective (groove in the body was not pressed deep enough to accept the split ring). Terry's replaced the shock. While I had the shocks uninstalled I did a little informal testing on the Sen Sens and the Boges, using a bathroom scale I tested how much pressure it took to start to compress the shock. All the Sen Sens were fairly consistant at around 25 lbs. The Boges were all around 33-34 lbs. The used Boges were around 25lbs. The new Boges on the front were made in Germany the rears were UK. The Sen Sens had a larger dia. shaft on them but The Boges had a larger body. Another area of concern for me was that you have to use the old spacer tube in the upper mount, on the Sen Sens there was a little play on the Boges it was a perfect slip fit. This was on a 1993 XJS.
