Default rewiring injector and sensor harness on 1992 XJS

Can you please help me out with rewiring my injector and sensor harness?
I guess i will do it simple way, im planning to cut it before it enters hot area and rewire from there.
Since its 1992 model, its not simple injector harness it goes along with sensor wiring and ignition wiring.
Question is what wire gauge i should use? can 18ga cover everything?
how many colours to buy ?
what the wire length i should get approximately?
and last but not least, where can i get those injector connectors as well as 3 air/CTS/coolant sensors (

smth else i should be getting prior to the project? Thank you

Currently doing this for my '88 V12 with Lucas.
Glad to share info but not sure of differences with Marelli '92?
I used 16ga silicone. The more colours the better!

EV1 connectors I got here:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/26621630389...Bk9SR-KbzIjVYg

Note these are the early type - non-quick release, which fit both early and late injectors. Yours would be okay with the later quick release connectors (I believe the seller has them too).

You are in the UK? Brands Hatch performance has the connectors too:

https://www.shopbhp.com/products/8-x...cb00f430&_ss=r

You can contact them to get the price for 12.

Remember when you measure the length of the injector tails you will lose a bit of length when you shrink wrap the joint where it meets the main harness run, so start off a bit longer than measured off your old harness.

Yes, with the right colour coded wiring diagram its a breeze.
I have made mine before I yank the old one out, so a bit fiddly measuring the runs with everything still on the engine.
Are you going to mount the new one using the intake manifold bolts to raise it out of the Vee (seems sensible).
I got an 8-pin Deutsch connector so will avoid splicing into the existing harness.
Are you soldering or crimping? (I gather a controversial topic amongst autoelectricians!).
I opted to crimp (ratcheting crimper) as I gather typically better results unless you are an experienced solderer.

i think i will have to splice into existing harness, on 92 injector harness is going alone with bunch of other harnesses + all sensors, so you cant really rewire it from connector to connector and basically looking like this

so a bit of a PIA. i hope i wont make things worse) i will probably crimp as well .
What wire protection do you use, tape or some sort of tubing?

Agreed - Lucas EFI a bit simpler.
The problem I had and yourself probably too, is that if you go to a conventional auro-wiring supplier you can by 200yrds or wire, or sleeving which ain't exactly useful for a one-off, hence reliance on amazon or ebay.
I ended up using this in various dia's from 1/8" to 3/8". It stretches to 2x these dia's. You can see the wiring through it but looks okay re. chafe protection. PET does fray as soon as it is cut, so you need to flash it with a lighter. You can get non-fray sleeving, but again, could only find that from a parts store if buying e.g. 200yds. PET is rated to 260F, melts at 450F, so should be okay with the heat.
