Default Running Engine with Instrument Panel Removed

I have my instrument panel removed so I can do some heater core work. I had my core boiled out and pressure tested and I'm replacing the pipe o-rings with the white gaskets. I'd like to run the engine long enough to bring it up to temperature so I can check the pipe connections for leaks before I put the dash back together, but I don't want to damage something by not having a critical instrument circuit made. Has anyone tried this? Is it a bad idea? Thanks.

I've done the exact thing with two different XJSs.....nothing bad ever happened. I say go for it.

Cheers

Thanks Doug. That's good news. I'll give it a whirl tonight.

It worked like a charm, and I didn't fry anything! I'm also glad to report that there are no leaks, and my windshield doesn't fog up any more. All in all, a good day.
