Default Seat memory module LHB2165AA

Hi

I'm trying to help a guy, that is trying to fix a failing electric mirror. It seems the fault is in the control module, as the mirror will move, if 12V is applied directly.

Any tip to how to fix the box or find a used box ? I can see 2 boxes on eBay in US at around 185USD, is that the pricelevel to expect ?? Model XJS 1996 4.0, VIN SAJJAXFD4TS225422

Electric motor to what part? Mirror, seat, etc. The mirrors each have a fuse. The left mirror is under the dash fuse box. The right mirror fuse box is under the steering column. Assuming your Jaguar is RHD. If you are putting direct voltage to the mirror wiring, you are bypassing the fuse. The mirrors are inter connected (basically for mirror memory settings) with main console switch on the driver door. The mirror control knob will not function if any of the mirror fuse(s) are no good.

Thank you very much ! I’m the go-to guy regarding XJ-S issues in Jaguar Club of Denmark, and I’m trying to solve this problem for a guy in the club. Actually I’m communicating with his mechanic.
My own XJ-S is a 1977 with very manual mirrors, the type you adjust manually after rolling down the windows, so I have zero experience with this in XJ-S. My ‘40 is probably the same, it just never fails...

i will I’ll ask the mechanic to check fuses. As I understood it the fuses are in same side as the mirror they control ?

If what your friend needs is the mirror controller I can help with that.
However, before you throw a bunch of parts at the problem make sure that's what you need.
If you are sure all the associated fuses, relays and wiring are good then replace the controller.
My ,known good, controller can be had for half that.
I very rarely check in on the forums lately so contact me by phone/text @ 650-455-1110.

Thank you, great to have that offer on hand. I have already asked them to investigate the fuses based on MHF25s input. I will contact you if the mechanic still believes it’s the module, that causes the malfunctioning
