The one from my 2005 XK8 has exactly the same numbers:

You'll see the lid is marked 'THIS PART IS PROGRAMMABLE'.

Any equivalent module can be reprogrammed to your vehicle by the dealer but if you want to avoid having to have the replacement reprogrammed, make sure you get one from a vehicle which has the same options fitted e.g. 12 way Seat, Powerfold Mirrors etc.

Because of the memory function associated with the driver seat and its interface with other modules it is programmed to match the vehicle. I do not think that the passenger seat module is really programmed. I have had good plug-n-play results with two passenger seat modules without programming.

Wish someone with other than opinions would chime in on this issue so that we could have a definitive answer.

The seat module has to be programmed while plugged into the driver's side. The module 'knows' what side its in by the location of the ground pin in the connector. And this programming must be done in an 03-06 car. If you have a 2002, and get a new seat module, you have to track down a newer model to plug the module into and program it, then plug into the earlier car. If you buy a used one from a like equipped parts car, you wont have to program.

Why not see if it can be rebuilt and a fraction of replacement?

Default Update to buy a new seat module cost from Jag dealer

Just a quick update for a new passenger seat module from the dealer at Scott Jaguar in Charlotte,NC. Seat module is $1050.00 + programming + installation so I bowed out gracefully on that quick fix just for a module for a seat. I just used my driver side module and set the passenger seat to comfy position and in process of waiting to hear back from auto ecu for a rebuild of the seat module and or find a like module used for my car.

David,
I'm also in the Charlotte area and in need of a drivers seat module for an '06 XK8.
Have you had any luck?
I will post if I find a cheaper solution.
