There are loads for sale over here at the moment.
Just realised it was an old photo, the 2nd one shows it with the later spoiler fitted.
Beautiful machine. It is hard to believe how different this car's stance is from that of the standard XJS of the same year model and it's amazing the difference that just a body kit can achieve, totally transforming the car. Originally Posted by Steve M

I'm sure that Jaguar took a few clues from what this kit does and applied them to the facelift program. When you compare pre-facelift cars with facelift cars side by side from various angles you can easily attest to that.

The thread does say "Show Off Your CAT", and not "Show Off Your XJS", so here's my pride and joy; other than the sig picture that is.

LnrB, the Series III XJ6 is such a classic. I can't stop scanning Craigslist for them. Haven't pulled the trigger yet though.
Man, convertible XJS simply exudes sex appeal. Even the facelifts
Love the coupes still. Keep em coming folks! Love this thread!

Three more. Me and my Son, My son and good friend Gail and me in the TR6 and my son in tow in the XJS. What an experience for him, driving on and off the show field at Amelia. He got rear-ended at slow speed by an E-Type leaving the show field! Fun day!!!!
That was just the E type sniffing some XJS ***

It looks great in most lighting, best at dusk
These are the best cars to cruise in, they get more looks than a much more expensive car.
Often when returning to the car in a parking lot, there will be people taking pictures of it
lol. If they new I had only about $5000 in it

That is an amazing looking Paint Job!
Did you use 2pack or Lacquer over Base Coat?
Are you a Pro Car Sprayer or just a naturally gifted Genius!

LOL Thanks orangeblossom
The paint is PPG, "they" say it's the best around.
It is a base coat then clear coat (base clear)
The base is solvent based and the clear is water based.
Water based clear was new to me, and sprayed on more like a gel than a traditional paint, it was very slow going and required two gun loads to cover the car. 1 quart= 1 coat
Material cost was about $1200
The car got 4 coats of clear!!
I have been doing body and paint as a hobby for 30 years, but I am neither PRO or GIFTED

You are far too modest! (lol!)
That is one of the best paint jobs that I have ever seen!
She looks like a New Car! and I've got one the same color, which may need repainting in one or two places and if She looks half as good as yours then I will be very happy.
BTW What sort of Primer did you use?

I posted these over in the XK/XKR forum, so hopefully I don't get in trouble for cross posting... but I thought some people over here would appreciate these too. My father just purchased the XKR-S, and the XK8 and XJSC are mine. Seeing the evolution of Jag's GT cars is kind of neat I think. I'm not a very good photographer.. sorry haha. (And yes, I know the front splitter is missing from the XKR-S.. was damaged in transit and a new one is on order from the dealer)
