I have a 1996 4.0 liter xjs convertible with 135,000 miles. I noticed that when the car is parked and I step on the gas pedal there is a slight hesitation but then it seems to run fine while driving. Any ideas where I should look first. Thank you for any help you can give.

 

When was the last time the air cleaner was changed...?

 

I would think that the TPS has gotten a little worn, maybe sending bad signal like a flat spot.

 

About six months ago, less than a thousand miles on new filter. Thanks for your input.

 

This is the second time someone mentioned the TPS, I will be looking into that, thanks for the tip.
