Default So it begins

First off, I love it, simple as. I have been working on it since 9a. She fired right up within 2 seconds after charging a dead battery for 7 hours.

I am trying to figure out the lights, they are different from my others.

The headlights, from what I read from Kirby are actually the running lights as well? Do I understand that correctly? Where as in my 90 XJ6's the running lights are amber, under the headlights. And, the amber lights under the headlights are turn signals only on the XJS?

To the boot, from left to right from the drivers side please.
Turn signal, parking/brake then reverse. Is this correct?

So I have a bulb next to the reverse bulb, I am not sure what it does and can't get them to light. What are they?

Bottom bumper, are these reflectors or fog lights? One is red and one is clear, is that the way it should be?

Light my way please

I think what you have is small, white/clear "pilot light" or "city light" bulbs within the main headlamps assemblies. These serve the function of "parking lights" when the actual headlights are turned off. This relegateds the amber lamps in the bumper to turn-signals-only, yes.

X300s are arranged the same way.

I've found this curious as I thought the DOT required front "park lamps" to be amber. Obviously I'm wrong.

Many Jags have had red fog lamps in the rear bumper.....but I can't speak with certainty with respect to the facelift XJSs.

Cheers

Thanks to the great search function on here, and tons of reading I was able to get the headlights, fog lights (front and rear) and power mirrors working again. That left front control panel in the engine bay was the culprit. I cleaned the heck out of the electronic connectors and relays. If you own a 92 the electrical guide is indispensable! Now on to other issues.
