1992 Jaguar XJS (Canadian market) with the oil relief setup. I apologise in advance for not knowing some part terminology (this area of the car is a bit confusing for me).
As part of a much larger project, I removed the sandwich plate and re-installed it tonight only to realize that I didn't replace an o-ring. This o-ring (still original) is the one that is depicted in photos #2 and #3 located in the oil filter area. It provides a seal to the top of the sandwich plate. My first question: should I remove the sandwich again plate to get at that o-ring? I have a feeling that the answer will be yes....also, there is no other gasket that I can find for this area, so the 0-ring should be it?
As well, the relief valve has been removed and I see an o-ring (picture 4). Before I pull it out, I'm assuming it is replaceable? Anyone know the specs? Is it part 072-056 (O-RING, oil pressure relief valve | Moss Motors)? Moss Motors is back ordered and I need to source another supplier.
Any insight is appreciated...I'm kicking myself for missing that one o-ring (I replaced all the others)...If I pull the sandwich plate again, I'll need a new gasket....but that is a small price to pay.
