Default Steering rack heat shields

Just by chance does anyone with a V12 happen to have a pic showing the steering rack heat shields and how/where they are attached?

This actually pertain to my Series III 6 cylinder-to-V12 project but there is more V12 activity here....and the Series III uses the same parts.

I have the heat shield blues. I think I may have kept my 6 cylinder stuff and ...gah!...thrown away the V12 shields. What a dumbass. This is what happens when you move and try to 'organize things'.

Many thanks

Cheers

Here are the best shots I have, not that good but good enough I think. The shields bolt onto the outer side of each rack bracket and use the rack bracket bolts. The shields have a central vertical piece for this purpose that is attached to the curved piece that goes round the bellows. Additionally there should be a vertical piece of shield that protects the the rack tower from the exhaust downpipes. On my RHD car the RHS shield has a detachable bracket to which the actual shield is bolted and which bracket bolts to the rack bracket (in the diagram below this is confusingly shown nearer the non-tower-side shield that does NOT have this piece or the extra fixing bracket attached to it). On the diagram below the depiction is for LHD. The intermediate bracket (shown on the right of the diagram) does not have to be separated from the shield to fix it to the rack bracket, but it does make it easier if you do.

Will do.

Actually I just bought a heat shield from him.... for a different location....one of the under-floor shields. One of many recent purchases from David. He's a great guy !

I think I have one section of the steering rack shield. Plus, I have yet another heat shield that doesn't seem to fit anywhere ....and I can remember which car it came from ! I might post a pic. I'm sure somebody will recognize it

Cheers and thanks
