So now, as continuing repairs after my date with a retaining wall, my steering rack is leaking. MY 92

Dropped the old rack yesterday. Surprisingly it was an Adwest.

i have the ZF rack from the 1991 donor car.

From what Ive read, this seems a bit backward. And I suppose I am going to have to convert the ends on my new hoses to metric....

Here is my post and lessons from doing this job, and mine has worked perfectly.
no leaks.

The drift is the best thing I made.

ZF Rack Swap- it's a snap.......
Just to clarify, the ZF (93-96) one piece XJS steering rack is a bolt in swap for any of the earlier XJS racks. Absolutely no changes are required at all. The power steering hose fittings are the same, and the tie rod ends are the same as all 84 and later XJS racks (small diameter). As long as you keep the ZF compatible outer tie rod ends on the unit (JLM1098, used on all XJS racks from 84-96, BTW ) the unit drops right in. The later outer tie rod ends fit all years steering knuckles perfectly. Besides the rack itself (and the addition of ABS in 89), Jaguar changed very little on this suspension from 76-96.

You'll love the ZF rack- I have one in my 88 XJSC and the feel is great. Be sure to go to the polyurethane rack mounts as well for best response and feel

I hope that helps
