Ive used electrical contact cleaner to clean contacts as most cars sit in dust over time.

No experience with bulb replacement!

Have you had to disassemble the switch to do that?

I've poped them out and sprayed them or soaked them in really bad. The problem with sealed switches as they usually break if disassembled. I just sparay them and make sure they are working with an amp meter.

i too have just sprayed with electrical contact cleaner, about a fiver from Halfords and such like

these switches come with a grease that over time gets to be grotty , and gums up the contacts

simply spray inside and operate the switch a few times, preferably out of the car….

E type switches are much more service friendly.
