Default Tales of wiring tails

..............................hopefully you telling be about mine.

Hello Chaps, i need some ID help for wiring in my 1982 XJS engine bay.

1, There is a black and yellow single wire, whats it for? There has been a repairs in this area, ive also seen this in other engine bays it looks nicely done.

2, l have 2 of these sockets (the other on the opposite side on the motor) one labeled i think CSV1 they where taped over with tape that had been on there long enough to be brittle. What are they for?

3, Wiring block at the front left of car near small fan.

...............................i would like to say thats it, but its all for now !

Thankyouverymuch!

I think no 2 are plugs for cold start injectors, which your car is probably not fitted with. In these cases, Jaguar just taped them off.
The last photo of the square plug with the green wires. I think this is the plug for the headlight was/wipers system; again, your car may not be fitted with them, or if it is, they may be disconnected.

I cannot help with photo 1.

Many thanks Greg.

l dont have headlight wiper washers, so that makes sense.

The tape could be that old, it literally shattered when touched,.........................a bit like my wiper motor cover

l have to be careful and not assume, after a lifetime of older Jap Black and yellow is earth to me.

Cheers AOI
