Default Thermostat Question

I see that my '95 4.0 is designed with a 190 degrees F t-Stat. Here locally, I find ones that will fit my XJS are either 180 F or 195 F. Which one to choose? I am leaning toward 195. Thoughts?

I'd go with the 195º

I am inclined to agree. 180 may be too cool and cause rich running.

I went with 180s & the car wouldn't pass California smog. Switched to new 195 'stats with the 82 degree Celsius electric fan switch and my car runs just below the N w/out a/c on and just above the middle of the N with a/c. Mines an '88.5, so the electric fan isn't wired to the a/c clutch (yet).
