Default Throttle pot upgrade challenge

I managed to obtain a brand spanking unused throttle potentiometer upgrade as noted in Jaguar bulletin C-11 that replaces the large black Bourne potentiometer with the later Lucas 'Red' one. I do not therefore require my McGuyvered solution to make the Bourne unit more consistent (3d printed PETG housing and Roller skate bearing)

Fitting should be simple ... like anything Jaguar there is always a challenge - the three holes in the throttle turret do not align with the aluminium casting (part EAC9567)

In the following images two holes align perfectly, the casting is properly centred on the turret base, but one hole is not aligning. I have not managed to find anything that would indicate others have seen this, I have also not seen anything to indicate there was a faulty batch of castings, has anyone else seen this ??

I tried this on a spare turret and it is the same story.

I can fix this without much issue but would have been nice not to need to mess around with a welder / drilling / tapping for such a mundane thing (no I will not remove material from the casting)

Back in the day, and perhaps still, Jaguar sold an adapter kit to fit a red TPS where the Bournes TPS used to reside. Someone may have the part number and you might still find one. Instead of an EAC9567 you'd get.....something else. Um....I think. I'd have to find the TSB to verify.

Cheers

PS- Is your new red TPS a genuine Lucas item? The modern day replacements are Brand-X and not very good in my experience.

This is the part in the bulletin ... Lucas for sure, original box for entire kit in background ... ignore mounting marks I've been playing.

Well, so much for my idea.

Great find on the kit, though!

one from a 93 v6 ford mustang fits as well with a little modification as the red ones and kits are harder to find. About to put one in myself

I just used the 2 screws and thought "ill drill and tap that later" that was 10 years ago, never got round to it, it's been perfect.
