Too good to be true? + oil question
I saw an ad for a 1990 XJS V12 with 89K miles thatīs supposed to be in excellent condition for only $1350. I am going to look at it. Itīs basically the one Jaguar I need to complete my current collection. I didnīt think I could find one that I could afford after getting all of the others. But this sounds for real. The owner is 74 years old and said it was stupid of him to get the car because he has trouble getting in and out due to hip surgery. Heīs owned it for two years and says it ran great but it has to go. He hasnīt used it in six months. If I get it Iīll want to change the oil right away. Does the XJS V12 use the same oil that most people here use for the XJ6? I mean the 20W50. Or does a V12 require something different?
If I get this Iīll have too many cars and somebody can get a great deal on one of them from me.

Thanks, Doug.
The XJS was a great buy. It ran beautifully even after being ignored for at least seven months. The paint was faded. The interior was identical to that of the series III. I expected something different in a 1990. The owner also had a 1993 XJ40. It was only $2300 and had 69K miles. Beautiful body. No defects. Wood was perfect, but the leather a bit rough. It ran like velvet as somebody here described. It was in better shape than my red 1993 and I liked it better than his XJS so I bought it. My girlfriendīs civic is about to die so Iīm going move her up to my red xj40 and Iīll keep this white xj40. Plus it has a cd changer. Itīs really pretty with white wall tires and the wheel center caps painted white.
Iīm still holding at four jags for myself plus the lincoln and now Iīm responsible for my girlfriendīs jag. Sheīll take it today. Hopefully she can sell the civic quickly.
