92 XJS 5.3

I am not sure what its called that the bolt in the picture has taken it's place.
Previous owner put a bolt in there. This is from the shifter and attaches the linkage to the transmission. The bolt is working, but I would like the actual part. What am I looking for?

 

I'm thinking there's supposed to be a ball-pivot stud with a threaded end....and possibly only available with a new cable.
