Anyone know what the stock size / type fittings are for the trans cooler lines going into the radiator? I'm installing an aftermarket radiator and the fittings it came with aren't the same - it came with female "inverted flare" fittings, the old radiator had male fittings with o-rings. The new radiator has standard npt for the fittings so if I find the right ones installing should be no problem. The old fittings seem to be soldered into the rad tank so I can't use them. I do have the old radiator and can measure the stock connection, but have no idea what that style is called to search for a replacement.

The hoses seem ok, and I suspect it would be much less expensive to replace the fittings so I would rather go that way.

My tranny cooler hoses ruptured and set my firewall ablaze. Better replace those hoses as they are very brittle if they are original.

EAA, you probably won't replace the tranny hoses until they rupture. Luck with that if it happens. Mine spewed tranny fluid onto the exhaust system and almost burned the car up.
The original lines are very dificult to remove and replace, not to mention expensive, so I ran new flexible lines from the tranny down the right engine bay straight to the radiator. Works well and gets the lines away from the heat. Of course, if you are wanting to keep the car stock this is out of the question. Instaling a fire extinguisher is a good idea also.

Ragjag - thanks for your advice - it's probably a good idea to replace those hoses - they look fine at the radiator end, but I haven't really looked closely under the engine and back. Just the same, I'm hoping not to replace them immediately, changing the fittings should be much less expensive in the short term. I'm definitely not planning on replacing them with the stock items - prices on the internet coming in at over 300usd for the pair! When I do replace them I'll get the hoses made and maybe reroute them as you did.

For what its worth, the old radiator fittings measured as 5/8-18 male thread with an oring inserted on the face - still haven't found an off the shelf replacement to adapt to the new radiator (1/4npt).
