Default Transmission problem

Hello
I was driven my 1996 Jaguar xjs 4.0 normally when I stop on a red light and going on a green light a minute after the transmission had neutralize now the car start normally but the transmission not working on any gear.
Other question.. A 1994 jaguar xjs 4.0 convertible frame will fit to a 1996 xjs 4.0?
Thanks.

I know this may sound like an obvious question, but have you checked the fluid level? You didn't say, so I thought I would ask. Fluid level is checked with engine running, transmission in "D" and warm, not hot.

Hello Carsnplanes
I checked the transmission fluid level when the engine was cold, the stick fluid level check has 2 lines the lower line when the engine is cold and the upper when is warm, I checked and the transmission fluid was above the upper line it has to much fluid.
Thanks

No, it doesn't have too much fluid. When cold, all the fluid drains to the pan and will show as high on the dipstick. When you run the engine and transmission, the pump will suck the fluid from the pan to the other areas. This will drop the fluid level and this is where you need to maintain the fluid level. So check with engine running, and when transmission warm and in D.
