Default USA spec wing repeaters/lights

Guys
Some info please. My mate has a USA spec V12 pre HE coupe, imported to the UK, and it has the large-ish amber colored (USA Spelling!!) repeaters on the front wings (guards??). These are not working on his car. The questions for our USA readers are:
  • Are these meant to come on with the sidelights (USA parking lights??)?
  • Are they meant to repeat with the flashers?
  • Are they meant to do both things?
Thanks for any help you can give me.
Greg

US spec cars never had side repeaters. It will likely be a parking light. Depending on the era, it might just be a reflector. Some late E Types had that, there was no bulb in the housing.

I believe the chrome base is identical to what was used on a rubber bumper MGB, but with a taller plastic lens. Certainly Series III XJ cars have the same lamp base as the MGB.

Here in the USA they are side marker lights that turn on with the Lights. I remember seeing a write up somewhere about how to also make them Turn Signals/Repeaters. I may have saved a copy of the article

I checked my 92. They are side markers only that come on with the lights but do not flash with the turn signals.
