Default V12 only running on 6

Morning all, my v12 appears to only be running on the b bank. If I’ve put the distributor back in a tooth out is that likely to be the problem? Anything else I should look for? Thanks again for your help

Is it a Marelli car, Brinny? If it is you have the classic Marelli failure.; = dizzy arcing or amp failed, or broken wires to same.

Hi Brinny

If I remember correctly, your V12 is a Marelli 1989

So as 'Greg' says you've got the Classic Symptoms of a Marelli failure

Take the Dizzy Cap off and look for signs of Arcing

Ok . I hope it’s not that I’ve just put a new genuine marelli cap on. Did the mod to prevent arcing which makes me think I’ve put the dizzy in a cog out. Does it ever end lol

Hi Brinny

It could equally be the Rotor under the 'Dizzy Cap'

And in answer to your question, No it never ends 'There will be pain!'

Are all the obvious no brainers accounted for, ie. both coils and amplifiers connected. Might also need to check cap coil lead to rotor contact brush.
A cog out on a marelli could do it though with spark being generated between plug leads and nowhere to go but that would effect all 12.

Check the Manifold Pressure Sensor. I assume it runs very rough and you can stop it from stalling if you throw it in neutral when you come to a stop and feather the throttle?
