Default V12 Timing chain tensioner

For those who are considering or anticipating needing a timing chain tensioner for your v12 engine SNG Barrett has them on sell for 202.00 till the end of this month 4-30.

What are they normally?

I clicked on this because I thought it was a post about needing to replace one, which I was interested in because I never hear about this. Luckily the timing system is pretty bulletproof in the V12.

They have been more in the 300.00 range. If contemplating replacing any time in the future, I'd say this is a pretty good price.

Given the labour charges involved in the job I think it is actually cheaper to swap the engine out.

Thats why classic car owners are generally wealthy, DIYers, or both. It would be too difficult otherwise

i was lucky enough to buy a new one on ebay last year for £30 UK....... seller didn't know what he had.......

just assembling the other components for future installation

That would be OK if the tensioner in the replacement motor can be vouched for.
