Default Vacuum modulator leaking trans oil

Vacuum modulator leaking trans oil
My guess is there is an O ring in there somewhere.
I have cleaned the pan and it does not look like it is leaking.

Any advice before I pull it out?
How much fluid will flow out ?

What needs to be changed?

That is so clean. My underside looks like a neglected bbq grille. Other car sites with same trans say some fluid may come out but it shouldnt gush.

Thanks but I did laugh... still need to know what needs replacement!
There is quite a puddle now, started as a drip (months ago) but like 100mls now after a few days.

There is an o/ring on the snout of that modulator. Nothing special.

Some fluid will dribble out, BUT, if you have the RH side jacked up to get under and drop the exhaust pipe, access issues, that fluid loss will be minimal if any.

About a 6 beer job.

If you are lucky, the modulator is leaking. There is an O-ring that seals it to the case. I changed mine without dropping the exhaust. It only took a few minutes. I did lose more fluid than I expected. So that is the end of the good news. The bad news is, that looks just like mine did when the transmission pump to case seal was leaking. If you drop the torque converter cover you can go up above the oil pan, behind the torque converter with a cotton swab. If it is wet higher than the oil pan, you probably will have to pull the transmission to reseal the pump.

Update - removed the modulator with out jacking the car as it was on ramps and I can report that about 1 litre of fluid came out before I shoved the modulator back in after removing the o-ring, I was waiting for the flow to stop but it looked like it was not going to, if I had jacked one side it would have helped a lot.
Anyway - the o-ring was loose on the modulator so I got one with a slightly larger cross section, took a little effort to push home but it went in and dry as a bone.... so very pleased another leak fixed.

Still some small leaks to go..

Did you check the valve behind the vacuum modulator? I just discovered my was sticking? You should be able to feel it moving with a finger when you push it in. If it doesnt move freely try removing it with a strong magnet. Should come out fairly easily. I've just discovered mine is stuck hence my shifting problems. So now I have to remove the valve body again... I never though to check it before since its in the housing not the valve body.
