I’m struggling to identify precisely all the components from my ignition system.

My XJ-S is from 1985 with early 3.6 engine managed by Lucas 8CU ECU





Ignition amplifier is Lucas AB14…..But my question is which one ?

Looking inside the device, the internals components are visually looking the same as for the V12





-The GM HEI/CEI Module

-A Capacitor

-A Zener diode

-A second Zener diode ?



I would like to know which are precisely the reference of each of these components….It should not be the same as for the V12….Otherwise it would not existing several version of this AB14 module.



On my AB14 box, I have the reference 480 32 D



My understanding is the following one:

-6 cyl 3.6L engine from 1984 to 1987 (VIN 112253 to VIN ??????) = Jaguar DAC2939

-V12 5.3L engine from 1982 to 1986 ( to VIN 125025) = Jaguar DAC2673

-V12 5.3L engine from 1986 to 1989 ( VIN 125026 to VIN 157715 ) = Jaguar DAC4104







I’ve the same question about the pick-up plate in the distributor





Is it:

-Jaguar AUE1500

-Jaguar AUE1721 (Look like this one considering the connector)

-Another reference ??

I believe the only differences between the various AB14 is the length of the wires and the connectors. The internals are identical.
