Wet car + rotten scuttle = :(
Hello everyone,
I am at my wits end about keeping my XJS. I can't live right next to it due to school limitations so I'm on a visiting basis at the moment. The main concern and anxiety of mine is that it is getting wet.
So this morning I managed to unclip the bottom bit of trim where the windscreen meets the scuttlepanel and to my not-really-surprise there is a hole about 2 mm in diameter. That would explain why my floorpan has rusted out in the fashion it has and why my brakepedal this morning was dripping water.
I just don't understand why a completely waterproof half cover or something over the top of the car pressed firmly against the surface could hold moisture. I just want a second skin to the car that is waterproof, basically. I have the spare wheel that I can't put inside the car and is left outside; that has a tarp over it. It never has condensation and it's bone dry
