I would be very interested to hear your opinion on how much louder they make the car. |
Got all the parts in now to do a proper overhaul of my ABS unit. Now just need to finish my ABS DIY tester, so I can diagnose brake issues easily...

Gave her a Turtle Wax polishing compound and then a Turtle Wax Paste job and put the car cover on, ready for the next drive. Not near as young as I used to be.

Boy do I love having an automotive eidetic memory! :D Touchscreen something and ypu remember how it looks, where it sat and what was attached to it. It also helps finding compatible parts.
I was looking for a plug for my ABS actuator test rig and knew I had seen it somewhere... And then the memory revealed a common: Volvo! The plug connected between the ignition module and the engine loom is exactly this plug... Only on certain LH2.4 models thpugh. Found it, will be delivered tomorrow... Tester would then be a matter of minutes to assemble... |

I wanted to add bluetooth to my '96 xjs but was not excited about the new radio looks. I had been using a bluetooth to fm transmission but it was very lacking. I decide to go with an adapter plugged into the cd changer. I worked great. I don't get hands free but I had to do nothing but unplug the cd changer and plug this in. Great sound. I found it at A2D-JAG97 Audio Streaming Adapter for 1986-97 Jaguar XJ and XK :: Bluetooth
Plus I polished chrome and conditioned the seats. Next I need to find an upholsterer to replace the lining and padding on the original boot cover. The lining is breaking down and stained the headliner. Erik |
New KYB rear shocks. Yesterday and today took the fantastic beast out for a good run for the first time since installation. Great improvement over the worn out originals. The worst part was separating the original springs from the old shocks after 30+ years of them rusting together. I'm almost afraid to say the car is 'done' but everything is damn near perfect now as far as I can tell and everything works. Ta-dum!

Bought a Jaguar banner for my new home garage.

Looking into a"White Lighting" shiftier for my Tremec TKO 5sp.

Got the old girl winterized and ready for Canadian hibernation. Put more air in tires, disconnected battery, checked fluids, topped of gas and put some moth balls in trunk and cab. There is a fuel stabilizer I use that really does work when I start it next spring. Earlier this spring I flushed the rad and system, it really did help..

In about 4 hours I will be placing an order for a new car as a sporty stabile mate for my XJ-S. Get the 500 off of my drive way. In with something emotional. Something will style. Something a 32 year old man would drive and not what an 18 year old female learner would :D
|
Bought a headliner for my convertible top to use as a winter project.
