I happened to have some new OEM foam bushings that I never installed. I'm assuming that's what you were asking for!

Good luck!

Hi Vee

I've got a piece of Polyurethane Foam but it just seemed far too lightweight to use for Bushes, is that what the OEM ones are like, 'almost as light as a feather'?

I've also got some Neoprene, which I am experimenting with but its 19mm thick so I will have to shave a few mm. off.

OB, if you are not using the OEM foam type bush the thickness won't be entirely relevant. That foam compresses down a lot more than a poly replacement will so you may have to resort to a bit of trial and error.
Another option is to go to the bush used with the bilsteins if you are looking for less compliance.

Hi Baxtor

Cheers!

I've just made a Set from a very hard piece of Rubber, which was 19mm Thick so I cut them down to 16mm with a Hack Saw.

Making them was easy but getting the lock nuts off was a PIA!

One of them took 4 Hours to undo and the other one took 8 Hours!

The most difficult Nut I have ever had to get off in my life, even when I hacksawed it through on three sides and in the end I had to resort to a FBH and Chisel!

I just don't know where the time went?

One of the Joys of owning an XJS

I'm planning to do a full write up of removal and refitting on my 'Cherry Blossom' Restoration Thread.

Should you automatically replace the bushings when replacing the shocks? I haven't looked at mine but they are original as there is only 45k miles on the clock , but going on 22 years.

Am I missing something? Looks like my new set of Boge shocks have bushings on them already...

Boges normally come with new bushes and washers.
