Where is NBC3184AA on the AJ16 engine?

It is the intake manifold cartridge for the brake booster.

JDHT does not shown where it's at.

That pic from the parts catalog illustrates the part itself....but not the location!

I've never heard of it before so my curiosity is piqued. What function does it serve?

well, looking at the diagram , and item 2 is a core plug for this end, one would assume that the ' cartridge ' goes in a similar hole at the other end ??


as to function , it's the tap off from the induction manifold to provide constant vacuum to the brake booster while the car is running, and has a built in screen ? to stop debris going one way or the other

It's located right at the end of the brake booster hard line as it enters the intake manifold. It is the small brass fitting mounted in the manifold through which the hard line passes. The plastic "cartridge plug" is not used and the brass fitting "locks" the hard line into the manifold.

 

this part work on newer cars also,just not cataloged for then on the aj16 cars
