Default Will this Battery Fit my XJS V12

Hi Paul (ptjs) and others who may know

Do you think this Battery would be suitable for my XJS V12

Exide EA640 O27TE 242 X 175 X 190 640CCA This Battery has got Carbon Boost but I don't know what that is

As I don't want to buy a Stop Start Battery by mistake

Its also a little bit Taller at 190 as opposed to the 075 at 175 but I would make up my own Battery Top Clamp anyway and price wise its only £67.28 which is also cheaper than the less powerful 075

Thoughts please Guys

OB,

That 640CCA is a good capacity for a battery that fits the V12 battery tray. As you say, it's too high but if you're making a bespoke fitting, then that may not be a problem. Carbon Boost is a technology used by Exide (and maybe other manufacturers to use more carbon content on the plates which increases conductivity, inhibits sulphate buildup and improves charging times.

Just as another thought, Lion batteries are marketed by EuroCar Parts. They have a Lion 096 battery which has 640CCA at £71.99 today. That's pretty cheap for a 640CCA 096. Maybe worth a look also?

Hi Paul (ptjs)

Cheers but I think I'll stay with Exide, as they are the ones that I usually buy

I'm Taxed and Insured for a Year now just in case prices go up as I'm sure that they will and if I had got a Battery and on the assumption that all is OK after an 18 Month Layup, To-day I could have taken her for a MOT

Its been a really Amazing Day and was so Warm and Sunny that I got the Mower out and cut the grass!

Well done on cutting the grass!

As the bit of snow that we had has cleared away today, I might take my 4 litre out tomorrow down to Eastbourne for my friend to have a look at a bit of minor corrosion on one of the sills. Fingers crossed for a bright day again!

On your V12, maybe pull the fuel pump relay and spin her over a bit tomorrow to move the oil, before reconnecting and letting her fire up?

Cheers

Paul

Hi Paul (ptjs)

That's a great idea! but I haven't got a Battery that I can do that with and in any event I will need Two, as Job Number One, is to cut down that Tree that is overhanging the Garage door for which I am going to need the 'Cherry Picker' that I want to get home ASAP

No luck with my Welding Set with Battery Starter Charger, as it keeps Blowing 13 amp Fuses in the Plug, although the Garage is Wired for 15 Amp +

Just wondering if I should try the (Ah hem!...don't try this at home) Silver Paper Trick?

What size Fuse do you have on yours?

Also done some Research £100 per hour is what they Charge for doing Trees (pretty average apparently!) and so if 'Cherry 'P' does the business GF has already given it a Name,,, then I should be Quids in if it works, as I have got loads of Trees that are really getting a bit out of Control

Vince has convinced me I won't be doing my Money but I've just Spent 900 Sovs, on a Machine that I have never seen!
