Will the interior from an '86 fit an '89?
Pretty much as the title says. I know of a part out somewhat near me which has a good interior...much better than mine at any rate. I suspect there might be some differences possibly with the headliner (because of the automatic shoulder belt on the '89) and maybe a few others.
I'm pretty much looking at picking up the colored bits (seats, carpet, door cards, console, etc) as mine is in sorry shape.
Thanks in advance.

Should do. I think. They're both pre-facelift and post HE, those are the main changes. Although, were heated seats introduced in '89? or '88? somewhere around there. I recall something about a change around this point in the mountings to the car. I think it was the seat rails but I'm not sure, its in Kirby Palm's book. May be a good idea to grab the hardware when you take the interior, just in case something changed. You may want to grab the trim piece on top of the sills. Plastic before '88, nice shiny metal after.
The seats in cars built before about mid 1987 have seat runners that are about an inch or so further apart that the cars fitted with the later style more Recaro style seats. So you will have to make up some brackets or do some welding to accommodate the wider seats into the later chassis. Everything else will fit.
