Default Window motor driver's side

I need a driver side window motor for my 1989 Jaguar XJS convertible V-12. I can not find a new or rebuilt one. I would appreciate any suggestions where I might find one.

I'm not sure but I think I just bought the last driver side window Jagbits had. It was the only place I could find one.

Can you just use a XJ6 motor? Pull yours so you can check the teeth and bolt pattern before buying.

I had a weird motor on my 88 and had to get a totally different regulator because I couldn't locate another with the same teeth.

If nowhere else, Andy Harvey at Just Jags in the UK will send you one.

There were 2-3 variations of XJS window motor circa 1988-1990. Confusing. Nowadays some replacements require an adapter kit, sold separately, to work on certain models.

When the motor failed on my '88 I went to the local parts store and we easily found a matching *motor* which was swapped onto the Jaguar-specific *drive mechanism*. Took five minutes for that and another five minutes to change the wiring connectors. This way no adapters are needed to mate-up with the existing window regulator.

Also, I just gotta believe that there are companies who rebuild window motors.

Cheers
DD
