Default XJS - ABS - Brake line issue.

Took my XJS in to the testing station for a warrant (WOF) recently and the car when through no issue at all.
The inspector did invite me under the car to look at the ABS cable on the front left hand side.
The cable is on top of the brake line when it should be under the brake line.
So my million dollar question is:
Do I undo the ABS cable? or undo the brake line?
He said... if leftthe ABS wire will brake.

The ABS cable of course. It is plugged in in the engine bay. Unplug, thread through the hole, place correctly and then thread it back through again.

Hi Duke

Agree with 'Daim' undo the 'ABS' Cable or if you go for the 'Brake Pipe' then you will almost certainly get Air in the System and have to Bleed all of the Brakes all over again

Not ever the most fun job that you might want to do!

BTW Fantastic Job on your Fan Shroud, 'That's the way to do it' if only mine looked that good!

You can also unbolt the sensor from the hub and reroute it and put it back.

Thanks guys, great help as always.
Cable of course was my guess but this is not a normal car, so I like to run this passed the experts first.
Daim - sound like the right approach not messing with the sensor... well left alone.
Jagbo - sounds like the easiest option.... but f#ck with the sensor and open a can of worms.

Personally I usually go with the easiest option but that often ends badly!
What option will I take?

OB - a complement from you is very much appropriated, even told the wife!
Anyway a picture of the finished product... slightly of issue here but hay its my post!
Will update after surgery is complete....

Anyway...add a few stickers and the end result looks great, OH and the upgraded banjo bolt!
Temp does not go above mid N now.. got to love that.
And the new belts... went for a 200km drive today and loved every minute of it, except the $100 fuel bill but that is life at $2.20 / l

Hi Jet

Sounds like you only need some New Copper Washers, which is near enough essential if you have ever removed the Banjo Bolt but if you want to go 'The Full Nine Yards' the Upgraded Banjo Bolt complete with Spacer and Washers

Is thought by some to be a better design than OEM as it allows the Water to Flow around the Banjo Bolt much better

You can get these on ebay from a firm in Lithuania for about £20 just dial in XJS banjo bolt and spacer
