I'll second the accumulator ball. I currently have the same scenario and my mechanic mentioned the accumulator ball. It looks like a fairly simple installation, but you may want to do some research on the exact procedure. Please let us know how it goes.

Get the CD ROM XJS parts & service manual on ebay - A well spent 30 bucks (doesn't work on Vista). I just got mine and would send you a print screen jpeg of the A-ball page, but I'm emailing the supplier as some items aren't opening, including the section on brakes.

Default Couln't be easier

First, you'll need a hex bit for you ratchet - I forget what the size is. You may want to evacuate the back pressure by hitting your brake pedal 20-30x without engine on. Get a good grip on the motor because it may take some pressure and you don't want to break the mounts. Unscrew it and pop on the new one - and Bob's your uncle !!

Probably common knoweldge, but I'll say it anyways -- these things only last 10 years and the nitrogen leaks out. Be careful of cheap accumulators - the usually windup being NOS - ie, 1993 - 17 years old and probably on death's door from the second you mount it. Be sure to buy a NEW one from a reputable seller. I use Rock Auto. $165 +/-
