My drivers window has been sticking but previously if it was raining it worked. So I think it’s the channel that’s the problem. Also recently the motor has been slipping as well but thats probably because I’ve been trying to force it. Anyway I’ve stripped the door down and taken the motor out and the glass is clearly sticking around 3/4 of the way up.
the cog on the motor looks ok but wasn’t lined up with the (don’t know name of the part) bit that operates the glass.
any ideas please on making the glass move easily?

On my facelift assembly, I have a 1996 XJS, the bottom track is really what you want to lube. I prefer a silicone paste, and quite frankly I would use that on the side tracks as well. Its best to simply slather that stuff on your fingers and reach in and rub that stuff in the three channels. (both left and right side channels and the bottom channel) I like the 3M Silicone Paste product 08946. Even though white lithium seems to be the preferred lubricant, I always find that over time it degrades into a stickier mess.
