For several years I drove back and forth from my SC home to my CT home driving my 59 and 84 Rolls, 85 Mercedes and my 87 XJSC and 95 XJS. This was a 14 hr trip and I drove all of them fast and hard only stopping for fuel and a quick bite and I never had a major problem.

Once in VA, my dash lights stopped working in my 87 XJSC and that turned out to be caused by a bad connection on the passenger door light switch. I bought a temporary light that you plug into the lighter only to watch my speed as I would often see police.

Another trip while getting fuel in NC in my 95 XJS my hood cable snapped. I found a lowes about a mi away, bought some clamps, a cable cutter and fabricated it to work properly and ten years later that fix still remains as is and I must say looks good.

Life is an adventure so I choose to live it to the fullest and never listen to promoters of fear.

I listen to those guys. They know all the best things to not do, places not to go, cars to not buy. Then I go check those things out. Usually the most interesting stuff.

I'm coming up on 7 years with my XJS as a daily driver and I basically put gas in it and drive it. Its like a work truck to me.

There is the odd part here and there that has an issue and it has some leaks, but its like any car its age. Other than getting horrible gas mileage unless you can drive 55mph most of the time it works perfectly fine as a daily driver.
